A Stone For Benjamin
A Stone for Benjamin is the compelling story of my quest to discover the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of my grandmother’s brother, Benjamin, who lived in Paris during WWII. With no more than his name, old photographs and family stories from the past, I traveled to France, Poland and Israel, determined to uncover the truth about Benjamin’s life and death and the betrayal of France, the country he found for during the war. As I tried to elevate Benjamin from the number that was tattooed on his arm in Auschwitz to the human being that he was, I became emotionally bound to a man I had never met.
